What Happened at the 2024 IIABAZ Insurance Conference:

August 21, 2024 (Wednesday)

The convention kicked off with an opening speech by CEO Barbara Richardson. She represented the Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions. Following this, Nathan Riedel delivered a “State of the Union” address. He provided insights into the upcoming November election and its potential impact on the insurance industry.

Next, John Chapin of John Chapin Consulting led two engaging sessions. First, he explored AI’s impact on insurance sales. Then, he offered strategies for thriving in challenging market conditions. 

The day concluded with the IIABAZ & SLAAZ Annual Meeting. This was followed by an Installation and Awards Banquet. The event recognized industry achievements and installed new officers and board members. Finally, an Opening Night Reception allowed attendees to unwind and network with exhibitors.

August 22, 2024 (Thursday)

The morning began with a Young Insurance Professional Breakfast. Kody Houk from PrimeRisk Insurance Solutions was the featured speaker. Afterward, concurrent CE sessions covered various topics. These included agency E&O claims, tricky policy questions, insurance producer regulation, and cannabis insurance.

The Convention Luncheon featured Ryan Hanley from Finding Peak LLC. He shared insights on “The One Call Close” technique.

The event culminated with a spectacular Trade Show event. It featured 125 exhibit booths showcasing the latest insurance products and technologies. Attendees enjoyed entertainment, prizes, and networking opportunities while grooving to ’70s tunes.
